Human hair extensions – the real-life example
It’s no secret, hair loss often results in a very negative impact for the sufferer. On the one hand, it drastically changes the way a person looks, sometimes to the point of completely adjusting a person’s appearance. On the other hand, hair loss can greatly influence a person’s negative perception of themselves, ruining their existing comfort zone and self-image. But the main problem arising is that hair loss can’t simply be cured, and hair can’t just be restored by a singular application of a treatment method. Hair restoration should go hand in hand with full mental support. And only a combination of actual hair loss treatment methods and psychological support can lead to a full and successful recovery.
Let’s think of an example. Just imagine a person suffering with a serious case of alopecia areata. Her hair is almost completely lost, and this person is heavily balding. Before the sickness kicked in, this woman was proud of her thick and bristle hair floating down in shape of eye-catching curls. Now there’s nothing – it’s a tragic story. But there are signs that this woman can actually recover from alopecia, and in the meantime she opts for hair extensions that will temporarily ‘fix’ her look before she regains her hair back, thus improving her mood and self esteem. Her first choice is extensions from human hair. It’s a good choice, after all human hair extensions are known for their quality, natural look and touch, but above all authenticity. They are made from real hair that many women sell for money (yes, it’s an actual job!).
This woman’s looks have seemed to be improved through the use of human hair extensions. Her haircut looks natural, beautiful and sleek, drawing all attention of the by passers. But there’s one problem. Although, at first sight she looks pristine, she may not fully feel right. Deep down she knows that although her extensions look real, and nobody notices anything wrong with her – her ‘cover up’ is still fake at heart and artificial in what they represent. This woman wants her own hair, and desires it to grow naturally. She feels the artificiality of it all troubles her self-image and her own perception. This example clearly shows that even the use of human hair extensions at first sight may work really fine, but in truth this woman is constantly lacking something! Therefore to ease her pain, and allow her to fit in with her new extensions, additional emotional support needs to be provided for her.
Human hair extensions – being there for someone, it’s as simple as that
To solve this woman’s problems, it’s best to show her true affection and care. It’s always wise to explain to people like her that her look is beautiful no matter what she looks like. It’s valuable to let her know that her extensions indeed mask her illness, but they are also a fantastic way to help her recover. Offering full support is key to winning. Only then she’ll be able to understand that even with artificial element on her, she’s still her own self. Indeed the solution will only be temporarily, but she’ll recover in no time. At times the simplest actions speak the loudest, and even we have to play the role of a psychiatrist to help the ones we care for.
